With services like Wix and WordPress available, why should I learn web development?

Why should I learn HTML, CSS, JS, JS modules, frameworks, and more when there are pre-made website-building tools like WordPress and Wix? Sure, learning and expanding one’s knowledge is enjoyable, but what happens when a client can create his own website? What does becoming an engineer mean to me? I can simply create a website using Wix and deliver it to my customer, correct?

Where have I made a mistake?

Your perspective raises valid points about the convenience of pre-made tools like WordPress and Wix. However, learning core web technologies offers several advantages:

  1. Customization: Pre-made tools have limitations in customization compared to coding from scratch.
  2. Performance: Hand-coded websites often perform better in terms of speed and efficiency.
  3. Problem-solving: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JS allows you to troubleshoot and customize functionalities.
  4. Career Growth: A deeper understanding makes you more versatile and able to tackle complex projects.

While tools like Wix are convenient, mastering web development ensures you can meet diverse client needs effectively.
