I have a bunch of websites. What’s the best way to monitor them? What are the key things I need to focus on?
Are you asking about monetization or monitoring? Those are two different topics.

I mean monitoring, like how UptimeRobot does it.

You mentioned monetization in your description, by the way.

“Monetize” means making money, while “monitor” means keeping track.

I recommend UptimeRobot and Sentry.

I use UptimeRobot and HetrixTools.

I really like the UptimeRobot mobile app for iPhone.
I use BetterStack for uptime monitoring and Sentry/DataDog for the rest.

I monitor my own websites since nobody else visits them.
You should still use UptimeRobot.
I just wait for client emails to let me know if there’s a problem.
I use Pulsetic. It’s great for uptime monitoring and lets you track status with badges and pages. It also allows for maintenance windows. For bug tracking, I use Sentry.

I stopped using Sentry due to high costs and hidden fees.
In your title, you said ‘monitor,’ but in your post, you mentioned ‘monetize,’ which is confusing. If you want to monitor web traffic, I recommend Umami. I compared Google Analytics 4, Umami, and Plausible after trying them for over 30 days.
Umami and Plausible can both be self-hosted easily (which I did for my comparison).
Check out my post here: https://tsykin.com/blog/google-analytics-vs-umami-vs-plausible
Or watch my YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xBC_Vp2e7c
In short, Umami comes out on top for price, data quality, data access, ease of use, and unique features.
@Noor
That’s helpful! I’m currently using Plausible, but their custom event reporting isn’t great. I hadn’t heard of Umami, but I’m interested in trying it. Is it as privacy-focused as Plausible?

Yes, Umami is also privacy-focused, possibly even more than Plausible.
I might need to update my comparison to include that.

I use UptimeKuma.
Same here. I have UptimeKuma running in a container on my Proxmox server.

I host UptimeKuma on my own server. It’s not the best setup, but the price is unbeatable!
