Will web development be destroyed by services like WIX and Squarespace?

I’m asking because I’m new to web development and don’t have much experience. I’ve noticed that many people use Squarespace and WIX to create their websites, which makes hiring a web developer for a small website outdated. I’m sure more people will start using these because they’re more convenient and affordable.

Thus, in ten years, will web development still be around? I’m requesting because I want to pursue this as a career.

Nah, they still pay us to manage their Wix and SquareSpace sites. Made $600 last month doing it.

web development will remain a vital career path in the coming years despite the rise of user-friendly platforms like Squarespace and WIX. These platforms are excellent for individuals and small businesses needing basic websites quickly and affordably. However, custom-built websites are indispensable for larger organizations and businesses with specific requirements for performance, security, and scalability. Web developers are crucial in creating these bespoke solutions, integrating advanced functionalities, and ensuring optimal user experiences. As technology continues to advance with new trends like AI integration, PWAs, and increased focus on user interaction, the demand for skilled web developers who can innovate and adapt will only grow, making web development a promising career choice for the future.
