I stopped telling people I’m a web developer after they confuse it with designers and HTML plus CSS only. Now I say I’m a software developer that fits my role better and people understand that software engineering isn’t a simple job. For those who get it, I call myself a backend developer Most people probably just think about making blogs or took a basic HTML and CSS class in school and now they assume that’s all we do. I guess AI comments will come up in the future like aren’t you worried AI will take your job

The funniest was when a neighbor asked me what I did and I said software developer and he said I’m old son. I said computers and he goes oh nice Most common reaction is oh so you are a dork that was funny
