Hey everyone,
Anyone else feel like things are bouncing back a little? I’ve been freelancing for a while (10 years) and have seen the market go through its ups and downs. This year has definitely been slower, especially when it comes to landing those bigger clients with decent budgets. But today, I got an offer for $50 more than my asking rate to start with a new company for 40 hours a week. It’s probably the first time that’s happened in at least the past year, and leads seem to be picking up in general. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a bit of a recovery?
Definitely feels like things are starting to move again! I’ve had a similar experience recently—more inquiries and some higher offers. It’s been a rough few months, so it’s nice to see a glimmer of hope!
I’ve been fortunate to work for a company that’s been holding steady, so no major layoffs here. It’s been a bit of a slow year, but lately, sales have started to pick up. I’m guessing the upcoming rate cuts might be playing a role in this improvement.
Yeah, I’ve seen a significant increase in recruiter activity over the past few weeks and had several introductory calls. However, nothing has really progressed so far. I suspect a lot of companies are doing market research or waiting to see how the elections and economy play out before making any big moves. I’m optimistic that hiring will pick up at the start of next year.
My freelancing business took a major hit when COVID hit, but this month has been a game-changer. I just picked up 3 new clients, and they’re looking like they could be long-term. Funny enough, they almost landed in my lap just as I had stopped pushing so hard. Now I’m back to working weekends and nights, and it feels great to be back in the groove!
