Feel free to roast my designs, give it to me straight

Hey fellow backend developer! Looks like Windows 95 wants its UI back.

It seems like you spent as much time asking for feedback as you did actually designing.

Confirming the OP might be a masochist.

The term ‘design’ is really stretched here.

This looks more like a wireframe.

Honestly, this is better than many of the copy-pasted AI designs we see nowadays. Everything seems to look alike.

:fire: I wish every website looked like this.

Did you grow up on MS Access?

Did you forget the /s at the end of your comment?

Nope.

I don’t.

It seems like you’re allergic to border-radius.

Modern website design:
looks under
border-radius

But for real, I’d love to see unique designs that don’t rely on curves. I’m too clueless to do it myself, haha.

Straight edges are nicer than curves.

This feels like a throwback to the classic internet from 1994.

I’m not really into that design trend called ‘Neo Brutalism’, but you executed it well. :+1:

As a small note: I would suggest adding drop shadows to interactive elements. Outset for the buttons and inset for the selects.

Everyone here is harsh about the colors and borders, but I actually think it’s a cool style.

One suggestion: Instead of having a dropdown for each function, it might be better to show all the buttons side by side so you can see all options at once.

It depends on how many options there are and how cluttered it gets, but it’s something I’d try out.

@Paxton
We all appreciate style, but usability matters too. There’s a balance, and this isn’t close.

It’s an emoji generator, so it can be fun even if it’s not super usable all the time.
